SUMMARY:
Hopkins High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Boys Lacrosse Coach to support the Boys Lacrosse program. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to provide a positive, competitive, and development-focused experience for student-athletes.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of lacrosse, effective communication skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field while representing Hopkins High School and Hopkins Public Schools in a professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practices, competitions, and other team activities.

Provide instruction in lacrosse fundamentals, techniques, strategies, and game concepts.

Help develop student-athletes' individual skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and understanding of the game.

Assist with game preparation, including scouting, game planning, film review, and implementation of offensive and defensive strategies.

Provide coaching and supervision during practices, games, team meetings, and other program activities.

Assist with equipment organization, inventory, distribution, and collection as needed.

Help maintain accurate team and program records as directed by the Head Coach and Activities Department.

Maintain effective communication with the Head Coach, coaching staff, student-athletes, parents/guardians, and Activities Department.

Support the academic progress, personal development, and overall well-being of student-athletes.

Help create an inclusive, respectful, and positive team culture.

Serve as a positive role model and demonstrate professional conduct at all times.

Assist the Head Coach with additional duties necessary for the successful operation of the Boys Lacrosse program.
Qualifications
-
Previous lacrosse playing and/or coaching experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of lacrosse fundamentals, rules, techniques, and strategies.

Ability to effectively teach and communicate with high school student-athletes.

Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, coaching staff, Activities Department, and school administration.

Commitment to sportsmanship, character development, and the educational value of interscholastic athletics.

Must meet all Hopkins Public Schools and MSHSL coaching requirements.

Must successfully complete all required background checks, certifications, and training.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Previous coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level.

Experience developing lacrosse players at multiple skill levels.

Knowledge of strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and player development.
-
CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Physical Requirements

Ability to actively participate in practices and demonstrations.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to stand, walk, run, and remain active for extended periods during practices and competitions.

Ability to lift, carry, and move athletic equipment as needed.
Commitment
The Assistant Boys Lacrosse Coach is expected to be available for practices, competitions, meetings, and other team activities throughout the Boys Lacrosse season. The coach will work collaboratively with the Head Coach and Hopkins Activities Department to support the overall mission and expectations of Hopkins High School Athletics.

Stipend Range: $3,475 - $3,843, DOE
