Physical and Mental Requirements:
Work is performed at City facilities. The job requires attention to conditions of public and work areas. Activities include intermittent lifting and moving heavy furniture and equipment, climbing ladders, frequent walking, constant bending, stooping, and reaching; spends majority of time on feet. Daily push-pull of walk-behind mowers, snow removal equipment. There is intermittent lifting or moving up to 50 pounds of materials such as tables, bags of salt, rugs, equipment, tools, supplies, etc. Heavier lifts are assisted or team lifts. Ability to shovel snow in winter.
Position contingent upon background check, medical exams and drug testing.
Working Conditions:
Typical work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday daytime. Some extended day and evening in emergency situations due to weather events. Most work is performed indoors. In the winter there is intermittent exposure to cold or slippery conditions due to the need to salt and shovel around entry and exit doors. The incumbent is routinely exposed to dust, chemicals, biohazards, unpleasant odors and dirt.
