Part-Time Line Cook ($21-$25/hr) – Calm, Fast-Paced Kitchen
Pay: $21-$25 per hour, based on experience
Hours: Approximately 20-25 hours per week
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Start times may be flexible; however, applicants must be available to remain until kitchen close on scheduled shifts.
We are a small, independently owned restaurant serving casual upscale comfort food in a fast-paced but calm kitchen environment. We do not offer delivery service through Grubhub, Uber Eats, DoorDash, or similar platforms, allowing our team to focus on quality food and efficient dine-in service.
We are seeking an experienced line cook who is comfortable managing a station independently, reading and executing tickets accurately, multitasking during busy service periods, and maintaining high standards of consistency and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Prepare menu items accurately and efficiently during service
- Read and execute tickets in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Follow recipes and plating standards
- Learn and prepare weekly specials and rotating sandwich offerings in addition to the regular menu
- Assist with prep and closing duties as needed
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant line cook experience required
- Strong ticket-reading and multitasking skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
- Team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers (English preferred; Spanish-speaking applicants welcome if able to communicate with English-speaking staff)
Preferred Experience
- Diners, gastropubs, taverns, family restaurants, or other establishments with varied menus
- Scratch cooking and made-to-order service
This position is best suited for cooks with restaurant line experience. Applicants whose experience is primarily limited to institutional or volume-food-service environments, such as schools, hospitals, or nursing facilities, may not be the right fit, as this role requires working directly from individual customer tickets during service.
