American Traveler is hiring a Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist with ARRT certification and experience in interventional procedures for a Heart & Vascular Institute setting.

Vascular Interventional Radiology department within a Heart & Vascular Institute
-
Patient population includes those requiring invasive cardiology and invasive radiology studies
-
Procedures include peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization (venous and arterial), venous thrombectomy, dialysis access (AV fistulas, tunneled dialysis catheters, peritoneal dialysis catheters), tube access and changes (G-tube, Chole, Neph, Biliary, Abscess, SPC), and neuro procedures (cerebral arterial/venous, kyphoplasty)

4x9-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week

Weekend and holiday coverage on a call-only rotation basis

Epic EMR experience required
-
Associate's Degree in a related field or a Certificate in Radiologic Technology

ARRT (R) certification required
-
BLS and ACLS (both AHA) required
-
Illinois IEMA Radiography License required — license required if applicable

Minimum 1 year of relevant Radiologic Technology experience

Level 1 Trauma experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Ability to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures
-
Manual dexterity to handle small supplies
-
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Assist physicians with all interventional procedures in the Heart & Vascular Institute, including administering contrast material via existing IV line or by performing venipuncture, and recognizing and responding to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions

Accurately communicate intra-procedural medication doses, radiation, and sponge/sharp counts to the procedural nurse

Assess patients for allergies and administer or withhold contrast and treatment as appropriate
-
Compile pertinent clinical information including lab and pathology data, and document accurately and completely
-
Experience with Interventional Neurology is preferred

Assist with orientation and instruction of new staff as needed
-
Assist with inventory and supply management
-
Performs on-call duties and variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs
-
RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
-
Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to this facility system
