Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide evening and weekend support to individuals in their homes. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately in care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring safety and proper nutrition
- Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans, maintaining detailed documentation of medication schedules and responses
- Support clients with cognitive impairments by implementing memory care strategies and engaging them in meaningful activities
- Conduct regular patient observation to identify potential safety hazards or health concerns, ensuring a secure environment
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living space to promote comfort and hygiene
- Follow all home health protocols, including manual handling techniques and emergency procedures such as first aid or CPR when needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, autism support, intellectual disabilities, and neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred
- Strong skills in patient observation, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic nursing tasks
- Experience with manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts and assisting with ADLs required
- Ability to work independently during evening and weekend hours while maintaining high standards of patient care
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information
- Certifications such as CPR/First Aid are advantageous; ongoing training in hospice or geriatrics is a plus
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with clients and their families
