Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist specialized in Hurco and WinMax Conversational Programming for Milling operations. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision metal components. All new Hurco machines!
We specialize in precision machining of a variety of components and do a variety of short-run and production work. We are looking for someone who can work independently, take a print and figure out the best way to make the part, and handle setups and programming without needing to be constantly supervised.
Duties
- Program CNC milling machines using Hurco WinMax conversational software.
- Set up CNC machines, including installing tooling, and preparing work pieces according to blueprints and technical specifications.
- Select and set up tooling and workholding
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Perform machine adjustments, tool changes, and calibration to optimize machining processes for quality and efficiency.
- Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measurement instruments.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, perform basic maintenance on CNC equipment, and document production data for continuous process improvement.
Skills
- Proficiency in Hurco WinMax conversational programming for milling operations (turning programing is a plus) .
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines
- Program CNC mills using Hurco WinMax conversational programming
- Read and understand blueprints and GD&T
- Select and set up tooling and workholding
- Set work offsets and tool offsets
- Make adjustments and prove out programs
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, etc.
- Make first-piece inspections and in-process measurements
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments
- Work with a variety of materials and different types of jobs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
What we're looking for
- Experience setting up HURCO CNC milling machines ( lathe is a plus)
- Hurco / WinMax conversational programming experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Good understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling and workholding
- Ability to use standard inspection equipment
- Ability to work independently
- Good attention to detail
- Reliable and willing to take pride in the work you produce

- FUSION 360 experience
- Manual machining experience
- Grinding experience
- Wire EDM experience
- Tool and fixture building

Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
