Job Description
A warm and welcoming family near Washington Park is seeking a part-time nanny to care for their sweet 10-month-old baby. This is a live-out, short-term position with the potential to extend if it's a great fit. The ideal candidate is nurturing, engaging, knowledgeable about infant development, and enjoys becoming part of a family's parenting team.
The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00/9:00 AM to 4:00/5:00 PM, with 24 guaranteed hours per week. The position begins August 17.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving care for one 10-month-old infant.
- Plan age-appropriate activities that support developmental milestones.
- Prepare and wash bottles and assist with feeding.
- Handle the child's laundry.
- Maintain tidy play and nursery areas.
- Take stroller walks around the neighborhood and nearby Washington Park.
- Drive the child to activities or outings if needed once trust has been established.
- Communicate openly with parents regarding the child's daily routine and development.
- Work collaboratively with parents to provide consistent, high-quality care.
- Be comfortable working in a home with one medium-sized dog.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional nanny experience caring for infants and toddlers.
- Strong understanding of infant development and age-appropriate activities.
- Warm, engaging, dependable, and an excellent communicator.
- Professional references that can verify childcare experience.
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance.
- At least 18 years of age and a high school graduate (college education preferred).
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction.
- Non-smoker.
- CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain certification before hire.
- Willing to be paid legally/on payroll.
