Responsibilities
- Access Control Systems
- IP-based Digital Video Security Systems
- Legacy analog CCTV systems
- Mass notification systems, intercoms, and data transmission systems (wire, fiber, and RF)
- Install and terminate cables, mount sensors/door hardware, dress cables in racks/cabinets, and connect power supplies, UPS, surge protection, and related hardware/software.
- Interpret and follow installation drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and configuration documents.
- Use tools of the trade (hand tools, meters, probes) for testing, troubleshooting, and documentation with precision measurements and test data.
- Work independently or as part of a team on job sites.
- Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in security systems or low voltage electrical work.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to cabling, power tools, and schematics interpretation.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts essential for configuring networked security devices.
- Requirements
Experience: Background in electronics/electrical systems with proven hands-on installation, testing, and maintenance of security systems (Access Control, Video Surveillance, etc.).
Location: Primarily Northwestern PA (Mercer, Crawford, Erie, Venango, and surrounding counties). Some travel within the region; occasional overnight may be needed.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with access control credentials (mag stripe, proximity, smart cards).
- Basic PC skills, MS Word, Excel, internet/email; computer networking knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to pull/terminate/connectorize cables, install fiber/Ethernet/communications circuits, card readers, workstations, servers, etc.
- Education: Associate’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or related field (or military/technical school equivalent) preferred. CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Ability to pass background check.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
