American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med/Surg position requiring prior surgical experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Fast-paced inpatient surgical unit in a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes adult and pediatric surgical patients (ages 12 and up, depending on procedure)
-
Surgical cases include general, abdominal, urological, orthopedic, spine, bariatric, hysterectomy, and mastectomy procedures
-
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Every other weekend required

Floating to other units is expected at times

Active VA or compact RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Prior surgical nursing experience required

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, though shifts will be grouped together when possible

Holiday coverage is expected: if one holiday falls within the assignment, expect to work it; if two holidays fall within the assignment, expect to work one; if three, expect to work two

Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront prior to assignment confirmation
