Job Description:
The Academic Advisor at the WKU in Elizabethtown campus plays an important role in our students' educational experiences. Advisors are effective in helping students understand the purpose of a university education, explore the expectations and demands of their chosen career path, and initiate a plan in order to graduate and utilize resources for a path in their chosen career.
WKU in Elizabethtown has a diverse student group, with traditional, adult learners, online learners, and placebound individuals. This position works closely with the Regional Campuses advising team and advisors from the main campus to provide guidance, support, and encouragement for students at the WKU in Elizabethtown campus and surrounding region. This position plays a vital role as part of the Elizabethtown campus team in recruiting students, supporting students, and engaging with our community. WKU in Elizabethtown is a welcoming and inclusive environment. This position reports to the Director, Regional Campuses.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
- Provides academic advising to current WKU and prospective WKU students, with special emphasis on transfer advising. (60%)

Collaborate regularly with other Regional Campuses advisors, advisors from the Bowling Green campus, the WKU Transfer Center, and academic departments to remain current on academic programs and academic advising best practices. (10%)

Assist with campus recruitment and retention initiatives, including recruitment fairs, classroom visits, and outreach initiatives. (10%)

Assist Regional Campuses and WKU Transfer Center in keeping WKU Transfer Plans current. (5%)

Collaborate with WKU in Elizabethtown faculty/staff and other WKU Regional Campuses staff for campus events and engagement, occasionally beyond standard office hours. (5%)

Serve on the campus task force leadership team, task force team with community colleges, and engage with the Elizabethtown community as a WKU representative. (5%)

Contributes to office coverage and campus needs. (5%)

Salary Range: $36,000 - $38,000
