Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate welding and fabrication activities on construction sites and within the shop, ensuring projects meet quality specifications and deadlines
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and schematics to accurately fabricate components according to project requirements
- Perform advanced welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and welding standards with precision
- Operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, pipe threading equipment, and other fabrication machinery safely and efficiently
- Conduct rigging, assembly, metal fabrication, sheet metal fabrication, ductwork installation, and pipe threading as needed on various projects
- Utilize shop math, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy in all fabricated parts
- Maintain strict compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes & standards for quality assurance and safety
Qualifications
- Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of mechanical fabrication processes
- Expertise in MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW welding techniques with demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints and schematics accurately
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, schematics, and shop math for precise fabrication work
- Experience operating fabrication machinery such as press brakes, plasma cutters, pipe threading machines, and sheet metal equipment
- Knowledge of rigging practices, crane operation basics, forklift operation certification preferred
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices
- Ability to interpret technical drawings for mechanical assemblies including ductwork and piping systems
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing or construction environments involving metal fabrication
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to work independently or lead a team effectively
