Since 2017, Perennial City has been growing the local food web, from the ground up. Beth and Tim launched this crazy idea in their backyard to help neighbors eliminate food waste and support urban farming dreams.
Now in our 9th year, we’ve grown to help hundreds of households in St Louis keep the good stuff out of the landfill while supporting local farms and artisans by shopping The Market.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer service-minded lover of local food systems to be a Compost Courier for Perennial City and grow with us. The Compost Courier collects compostables from households in the St Louis Metropolitan area, while delivering the best local produce and goods.
We have big hopes for the potential of regenerative agriculture in the St Louis region—this is a great opportunity to get started and grow with us!
Daily Operations Include:
- Pickup compostables from households in the St Louis Metro area
- Deliver goods with collections
- Drop off scraps at our Headquarters
- Clean collection containers
WHAT MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT?
- A go-getter (literally!)
- A conscientious and safe driver with valid license
- Seeking part time, active, meaningful daytime work
- Physically comfortable with walking up and down lots of steps with deliveries, and capable of lifting 40+ lbs
- Not bothered by the elements—hot and cold, rain or shine
- Self-motivated with a passion for local food systems!
