Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Buyer Planner analyzes material demand and then issues and manages purchase orders to meet demand while minimizing the commitment of the company assets. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, and monitoring inventory. The buyer will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.
Essential Responsibilities:
Issue and manage Purchase Orders, frequently review Material Requirement Planning (MRP) System
Develop and analyze statistical data on purchased parts. Monitor data with a focus on meeting operational demand while minimizing commitment of company assets
Interact with Engineering teams to ensure current parts meet new and existing design specifications
Cultivate, manage, and support vendor relationships with vendors. Implements global supplier strategies with PSI that will drive improvements in quality, cost, service, and delivery. Leverage those relationships to satisfy procurement needs for PSI projects and initiatives including meeting customer drop-in orders
Manage part shortages, proactively communicating potential challenges to management and operations
Help identify vendors, establish vendor standards and SLAs, and monitor and evaluate performance with a focus on timely delivery, parts quality, and managing costs

Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain Management preferred; may substitute for the degree direct applicable work experience on a year-for-year basis which built competencies and subject matter expertise
Demonstrated success in an analytical role, proactively managing a fast-paced, deadline-driven, constantly changing workload
Subject matter knowledge of the manufacturing supply chain
Tech-savvy with excellent MS Office (Microsoft Excel in particular) ideally paired with ERP MRP software
Preferred Qualifications:
4-6 years of purchasing or materials planning experience.
Strong cross functional communication skills for internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Technical Proficiency in Microsoft excel and general Microsoft office skills.
A self-motivated attitude towards ownership of tasks beyond primary responsibility.
Previous purchasing or materials planning experience in assembly, manufacturing, and/or in automotive industry preferred.
Experience with international suppliers and global logistics preferred.
Fluency in Hindi preferred.
EPICOR ERP system experience preferred.
