American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a diagnostic radiology department at a Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of acute care experience and C-arm proficiency.

Large academic teaching hospital with 874 licensed beds, Level I Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center designations

Diagnostic radiology department with high patient volume averaging 350–400 patients per day

Coverage areas include the main radiology floor (4th floor with 2 x-ray rooms and 3 fluoro rooms), ED (2 rooms), 40 ORs with 12 C-arms and 2 O-arms, and 15 portables

Patient population spans adults and pediatrics (including neonates) from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams

High-acuity patient environment consistent with a Level I Trauma and teaching facility
-
Rotation between areas (ED, OR, Main) on a shift-by-shift basis
-
12-hour night shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (36 hours/week)

Weekend-only position; traveler remains on the same contracted shift and schedule throughout the assignment

No call requirement

Holiday coverage expected when holidays fall on a regularly scheduled shift
-
No floating outside of the radiology department; rotation within x-ray areas and portables only

Epic EMR required
-
Minimum 2 years of acute care radiology experience, with some trauma-level experience (Level I, II, or III) required
-
Current BLS and ARRT-R certification
-
State license required if applicable
-
C-arm experience required; O-arm experience preferred
-
Proficiency in general x-ray imaging including head, neck, spine, extremities, abdomen, hands, feet, and chest; comfort with trauma patients and bedside portables required

OR experience in spinal, ortho, general surgery, neuro, and pediatric cases strongly preferred

Epic EMR experience required

Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach

Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

First-time travelers will be considered provided they have trauma facility experience

Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Former employees who held a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible

Equipment used includes Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad rooms, Konica and Shimadzu portables, Philips C-arm, and GE O-arm

May be asked to precept radiology students depending on experience level

Orientation includes a facility and departmental tour with up to 5 days of departmental orientation, flexible based on traveler needs

RTO requires manager approval

Strong team support available including a Lead Tech, 24/7 Supervisor, Manager, on-site Radiologists, Rapid Response/Code Team, and a department transporter

Travelers will work alongside MD residents and fellows in this teaching environment
