Senior Medical Assistant
- The Senior Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients in a primary care office setting, following established standards of care and practices including the coordination of patient flow. Most of the role involves working on the phone with patients and healthcare providers to address issues, answer questions, and provide support, ensuring smooth communication and patient satisfaction. While the position requires knowledge of medical assisting tasks such as taking vital signs and preparing exam rooms, the primary focus is on effective communication and problem-solving over the phone to facilitate patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist providers during examinations, treatments, procedures, and testing of patients. Escort patients to exam rooms, interview them, measure vital signs such as weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in the electronic health record.
- Prepare equipment and rooms for patient visits, ensuring all supplies are stocked and instruments sterilized as needed.
- Ensure all reports, labs, and related information are available in patients' medical records prior to appointments.
- Keep exam rooms clean and organized. Respond to phone calls courteously and promptly, addressing patient concerns, scheduling follow-ups, clarifying provider instructions, and documenting communications according to guidelines.
- Carry out provider orders accurately. Maintain a safe and sterile environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Qualifications: High School Diploma required. Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, grammar, spelling, punctuation, electronic health record systems, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
