MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, noting changes in condition and reporting findings to healthcare professionals.
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness of residents’ living areas and common spaces through regular cleaning tasks.
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to transfer individuals with mobility challenges.
- Document care activities accurately, update care plans regularly, and participate in team meetings for continuous improvement.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being, especially for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or memory care is preferred.
- Experience with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism will be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medication administration procedures, and care planning processes is essential.
- Hands-on experience using lifts such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids demonstrates technical competence.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a caring attitude are vital for success in this role.
