Transportation Driver – Job Summary
Reports To: DCF Credentialed Services Coordinator
Must possess a valid Connecticut driver’s license with a mandatory "V" or "S" endorsement
Role Overview
The NCSS Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) clients to and from school, authorized appointments, and family visits while maintaining a secure and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Transport: Conduct pre-trip DOT safety inspections, obey all traffic laws, ensure all passengers wear seat belts, and maintain prompt schedules.
- Client Care & Supervision: Oversee passenger safety and well-being, adhere to confidentiality policies, and report any client concerns or transportation issues.
- Compliance & Training: Participate in required NCSS and DCF training programs, maintain CPR and First Aid certifications, and complete DOT physical exams and driver certification classes.
Key Qualifications & Essential Requirements
- Driver's License & Endorsement (Required): Must possess a valid Connecticut driver’s license with a mandatory "V" or "S" endorsement (or be willing to obtain one through the DMV).
- Experience & Age: Must be at least 21 years old with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience and a clean driving record.
- Clearances: Must pass national, state, motor vehicle, CT DCF, and multi-state background checks, along with a physical exam and negative PPD results.
