What You'll Do
Prepare animals for anesthesia, including administering pre-op medications, induction/intubation, and surgical site prep
Maintain the prep room, organize surgical supplies/equipment, and set up instrument tables
Accurately document records and collect data in a timely manner
Perform surgical procedures under veterinary supervision and provide training to surgical staff
Support protocol design and partner with leadership to achieve project milestones
Manage post-operative care and recovery
Assist with necropsy procedures
Qualifications
Required:
Associate degree with 1+ years of relevant clinical experience
Strong knowledge of medication calculations for laboratory animals
Familiarity with safety protocols in clinical and animal care environments
Understanding of surgical equipment and techniques
Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to follow medical orders and research protocols independently
Proficiency in anesthesia and surgical procedures on laboratory animals under supervision
