- Board Certification: Hold sub-specialty board certification in pain medicine via an ABMS-recognized specialty board, a Certificate of Added Qualification from the AOA, or board certification by the American Board of Pain Medicine.
- Fellowship or Residency: Successfully complete an ACGME- or AOA-accredited fellowship or residency in pain medicine.
- Approved Specialty Residency: Complete an accredited residency program in anesthesiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatry), neurology, neurosurgery, or psychiatry (and for certain osteopathic physicians, family practice, internal medicine, or orthopedics).
- Hospital Privileges: Maintain active staff privileges at a Florida-licensed hospital to practice pain medicine or perform related procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties
Clinical Responsibilities:
* Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to medical conditions.
* To provide a comprehensive medical evaluation, including diagnosis and treatment plans for patients with chronic pain
*Ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards
*Abides by the medical practice standards act.
Qualifications and Skills
Requirements:
*Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
*Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standard
*Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise
*Knowledge of current comprehensive medical evaluation, including diagnosis and treatment plans for patients in chronic pain.
*Effective verbal and written communication skills
*Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
*Must be credentialed per facility policies and procedures.
