A nonprofit organization in New York City is actively seeking a new Social Worker to join their team in Queens, supporting teenagers in foster care through trauma-informed clinical services, group facilitation, and collaborative work across two program sites.
About the Opportunity:

Shift: Day shift

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Hours: Flexible, typically between 8am to 7pm

Setting: Field-based residential setting
Responsibilities:

Provide individual counseling, crisis intervention, and ongoing support to youth with emotional and behavioral needs

Facilitate group sessions and therapeutic activities that promote social-emotional growth and positive peer engagement

Conduct psychosocial assessments, safety planning, service planning, and required documentation

Collaborate with residential leadership, case planners, and interdisciplinary partners to support a stable, trauma-informed environment

Provide psychoeducation to staff and coordinate referrals and services to support youth well-being and continuity of care
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field

Experience working in Foster Care, Residential Care, Group Home, or Youth-serving settings

Experience supporting youth with behavioral, emotional, or trauma-related needs
- Ability to work across two program sites in Queens

Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Desired Skills:

Master's Degree in Social Work

Licensed clinical social work credentials or other clinical licensure

Experience with evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, or motivational interviewing

Experience leading workshops, group sessions, or psychoeducational activities

Background in trauma-informed care and residential programming
-
Lived experience or prior exposure to youth-centered community work
