Summary Description:
We’re looking for an Installation Technician to join our team and assist with installing fire alarm, security, and low voltage systems. This is a great opportunity for someone with basic hands-on experience or training in low voltage cabling who’s ready to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in a rewarding and fast-paced industry.
Installer Level 1: Must be able to perform the following tasks and meet the basic requirements.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

0-3 years’ experience in the low voltage industry

Knowledge of all installation processes for multiple types of cabling

Ability to learn, understand & interpret drawings, plans & specs
-
Able to terminate Jacks, 110 blocks and 66 blocks for various types of cable included Cat5E, Cat6, Cat6a and multi-pair cable

Dress cabling and terminate patch panels for small projects
-
Basic testing and troubleshooting abilities
-
Structure cabling
-
Pull fiber optic cabling
-
Security
-
Working knowledge of the proper tools used in the low voltage industry including use of powder actuated tools

Able to sort cabling into bundles at MDF/IDF including toning miss label cables
-
Knowledge of applicable codes for the supporting of low voltage cabling systems
-
Understanding of the need for ongoing education for both current and future skill sets

Installation of cable support systems
-
Plan cable pathways
-
Monitor and follow safety practice for themselves and others
-
Mount location boxes
-
Route and dress cable through office furniture
-
Ability to label wires as indicated on the drawings
-
Pull low voltage cable in commercial and residential environments

Grasping (crimping) – Constantly (6-8 hours/daily)

Lifting 0-70lb – Frequently (3-6 hours/daily)

Carrying 0-70lb – Frequently (3-6 hours/daily)
