American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a hybrid RRT/ECMO Specialist role in a NICU at a leading children's hospital in Boston, requiring prior travel experience and centrifugal ECMO proficiency.

Hybrid role combining Registered Respiratory Therapist duties with ECMO Specialist responsibilities, as these functions are unified at this facility

Primarily responsible for neonatal and pediatric respiratory critical care and ECMO system operation on critically ill patients

When no ECMO assignment is available, candidates will backfill as Respiratory Therapists

13-week contract
-
Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:30; Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–7:30

Every third weekend is required
-
Active or pending MA Respiratory Therapist license required (license may be obtained during the booking process)

Current credentials required: BLS, PALS, and RRT or RRT-NPS

Preferred credentials: CES-P and E-NPEC

Must have prior travel assignment experience — first-time travelers will not be considered

Proficiency with centrifugal ECMO systems (e.g., CentriMag) required; roller pump experience is not sufficient

Experience with ECMO circuit assembly, priming, and management required

Ability to respond to ECMO-related emergencies in under 10 minutes

Responsibilities include bedside pump management, circuit assembly and priming, routine ECMO management, and operating related equipment

Must be able to administer blood products and medications, draw labs from the circuit, travel with patients, and provide in-room support

Must be able to identify and respond appropriately to clot-related complications

Responsible for changing out ECMO circuits as needed

License required if applicable
