Overview

Duties
- Design and deliver dynamic lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and arts.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with disabilities or special needs, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, or visual impairments.
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy, and speech therapy techniques to support diverse learners.
- Utilize learning technology and digital resources to enhance classroom engagement and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective classroom management techniques, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Assess student progress regularly through standardized testing, formative assessments, and observational data; provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and parents—to support holistic student development.
- Lead extracurricular activities such as music therapy sessions or recreational therapy programs to enrich the educational experience.
- Mentor new teachers and provide instructional coaching to promote best practices in teaching and special education.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings within private or public schools.
- Demonstrated expertise in special education disciplines such as speech therapy, behavioral health, or literacy education.
- Experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or sensory impairments like visual or hearing impairments.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored for diverse learning needs.
- Knowledge of IEP processes, standardized testing procedures, and compliance with educational regulations.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and external specialists.
- Background in using learning technology tools and adaptive educational software to support instruction. Pay: $14.75 - $16.05 per hour
