Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards. This role performs quality reviews, inspections, audits and documentation control while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. The Specialist will also oversee and coordinate quality-related activities across two separate manufacturing locations to ensure consistency and compliance across both sites. Specialist will be scheduled to report to either site as required. Must have Quality Assurance experience for aerospace product.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management System (QMS):
· Maintain, update, and ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements.
· Support internal and external audits, prepare required documentation, and assist with audit readiness.
· Monitor, review, and update quality procedures, work instructions, training records, and QMS documentation.
Quality Assurance & Inspection:
· Perform in-process and final inspections on manufactured parts and assemblies as required.
· Conduct quality reviews to ensure products meet customer specifications, regulatory standards, and internal requirements.
· Verify the use of calibrated tools, proper documentation, and compliance throughout the manufacturing process.
Nonconformances & Rejections:
· Process and track customer and vendor rejections, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
· Generate, review, and close Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
· Coordinate with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement:
· Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance quality, reduce errors, and increase efficiency.
· Participate in problem-solving activities and other quality tools.
· Support cross-functional teams in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Documentation & Reporting:
· Maintain accurate inspection records, quality logs, and traceability documentation.
· Prepare quality reports for management review and customer communication.
· Ensure proper documentation control and retention per QMS and customer requirements.
Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45.0 per week
