Managed Services Warehouse Manager

Department: Managed Services

Reports to: Service Delivery / Managed Services Manager

Summary

Responsible for all aspects of warehouse management in assigned AT&T Data Center. This position takes direction from the onsite Data Center Manager and is responsible for developing a positive, professional relationship with the Data Center Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving:

Supervise All Inside Deliveries.

Provide Delivery Personnel with Supervised Access.

Provide Floor Protection when needed.

Provide Handcart’s and Dolly’s when needed.

Log All Shipped/Received Equipment Using the SOCS Data Base:

Inspect All Received Equipment, Looking for Damage, Correct Address / Invoice
Notify Proper AT&T Contacts of New Deliveries Using SOCS Data Base; Timely entries in SOCS are critical and a high priority for the WHM to complete. DCO, EDCI, Network, Asset management all rely on this input.
Stage & Inventory All Outgoing Equipment - Lease Rolls, MUCS, Site to Site Movers
Check Serial Numbers of Outgoing Equipment.
Record Date using SOCS Data Base
Record Type of Equipment using SOCS Data Base
Remove All Temperature Sensors & Other Misc. Items Before Shipping
Place All Equipment in the Proper Staging Area for Deposition.
Maintain Inventory of New & Old Equipment in Dock Area.

Point of Contact for the following:

Lease Roll Shipments

EOSL Equipment Shipments
Site to Site Equipment Shipments

Break/Fix or RMA of Equipment Received

Dock Management:

Manage Dock Area to Eliminate Congestion

Keep Loading Dock Area Clean & Safe

Operate Hi/Low & Forklift, report any issues to DCO

Maintain Proper Security at All Times in and Around the Dock Area.

Raised Floor:

Color Code Power Cords Before Leaving the Build-Out Area

Work with Electrician

Ensure All Servers & Cabinets are Smoke Tested Before Leaving the Build-Out Area.

Place New Equipment on the Data Floor Prior to Install

As Directed by DCO or EDCI

Recycle/Store All Extra Equipment After Install is Complete

Insert & Remove Cut or Perforated Tiles as Directed by ESO.

Keep Data Room Free of Trash & Old Boxes
Work with Rack view Search, Add, Remove, edit information and Perform Rackview Cabinet Tamper Seal Walkthrough & Re-Validation as needed or instructed by DCO.

Miscellaneous:

Locate/Identify Equipment on the Data Room Floor

Verify Serial Numbers

Asset Tags

Create Power Labels for Cabinets

Install Blanking Plates in Cabinets Where Needed as Directed by DCO.

Label Server Names on New Equipment as Directed by DCO or EDCI.

Work with Various Groups Within AT&T as Needed; DCO, EDCI, TSO, Tape Ops, Mail Room, Building Engineers.
Report Any Irregularities to DCO

Education and Experience

A minimum High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of (12) months of related experience and/or training preferred. Experience within a data center is a must.

Communications Skills

Ability to effectively respond, verbally or written, to sensitive issues, complex inquiries, or complaints. Ability to respond effectively to questions from customers and managers. Requires a high level of commitment to customer service, whether coworkers or clients.

Other Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach to unusual occurrences. Requires good organizational skills, attention to detail and openness to new ideas and procedures.

Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for a data center environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a large data center, warehouse, loading dock, and office environment for extended periods of time

Ability to routinely bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb stairs or ladders when accessing equipment, inventory, and raised- floor areas
Ability to lift, carry, push and pull equipment, materials, and supplies

Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies, and forklifts, in accordance with safety requirements.

Ability to distinguish colors for identifying power cords, labels, asset tags, indicators, and equipment status lights

Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, scanners, inventory systems, mobile devices, and other warehouse or data center equipment

Ability to visually inspect equipment, serial numbers, shipping documentation, asset tags, and inventory records with attention to detail

Ability to travel within the facility and between work areas multiple times throughout the day
