Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and relay orders efficiently to the kitchen
- Provide menu recommendations, upsell specials, and promote featured items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols
- Clear tables, bus tables, and assist with light cleaning duties to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in dining areas
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including processing payments via POS systems like OpenTable or cash registers
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally to ensure an exceptional dining experience
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in breakfast or fine dining settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and handle inquiries effectively
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining guest satisfaction
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy breakfast hours
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as host/hostess or server is highly desirable; nightclub or food industry experience is a bonus
- Strong communication skills coupled with a friendly demeanor to foster guest relations and team collaboration
