Lead Teacher
Monday-Friday; 2026-2027 school year
10 month position from August-June | Full Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a nurturing, energetic, and experienced Preschool 3 Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of young children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence
- Support children’s development in language, literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and motor skills
- Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance and redirection techniques
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom in accordance with state licensing regulations
- Conduct ongoing observations and assessments of children’s development and progress
- Communicate regularly with families regarding their child’s growth, milestones, and daily activities
- Collaborate with co-teachers and administration to ensure a cohesive learning environment
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Ensure compliance with all New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing requirements
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and developmental assessments
- Supervise children at all times, including during indoor and outdoor activities
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
- P3 Certification with the state of New Jersey
- Experience working with preschool-aged children (ages 3–4)
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must pass background check and meet all NJ state requirements
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with curriculum planning and assessment tools
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills
- Passion for early childhood education
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
