The School Secretary at Asbury Classical School serves as the primary administrative support for the institution, reporting directly to the Head of School. This position functions as the first point of contact for the school community, warmly greeting visitors while maintaining security protocols. The role encompasses comprehensive office management, including record-keeping, database maintenance, financial processing, and communication coordination. The Secretary maintains the school calendar, manages enrollment, updates the website, administers the ClassReach database, and ensures compliance with safety procedures. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills to build Christ-honoring relationships with all constituents while serving as a liaison between Asbury Classical School and Asbury Church. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, problem-solving abilities, and maintains absolute confidentiality while creating a professional, welcoming environment.
Requirements for the position:
· Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, in good standing with a local church, above reproach in their character, testimony, and Christian witness while actively living out a Christian worldview.
· Model behavior that aligns with Asbury’s Ministerial Employees’ Mission Statement.
· Must be an active member of a local church.
· Must have vision and a demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage, and implement the role within the parameters of a theologically conservative church.
· High school diploma or equivalent required, some college a plus.
· Agreement with the school’s statement of faith and commitment to the integration of faith in all aspects of teaching.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, knowledge of Google Suite and ability to learn other internally used systems.
· Minimum of three years’ experience in office management, five preferred. Experience managing competing priorities, demonstrated expertise in bookkeeping, secretarial, and computer skills required to be successful in this role.
· High degree of organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.
· Due to the sensitive needs of our community, this person must be able to apply professional judgment, discretion and diplomacy while maintaining confidential information within the school and church community.
Time commitment for the position:
- Part-time, 30 hours per week. Monday – Friday.
