Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations in a fast-paced food service environment. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Supervise and train staff on food handling, customer service, and safety protocols
- Oversee food preparation processes ensuring quality standards are met
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and order processing
- Control inventory levels, monitor stock, and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards in kitchen and dining areas
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a positive dining experience
- Assist with shift management, scheduling staff, and overseeing operational flow during busy hours
- Support budgeting efforts and monitor operational costs to maximize efficiency
- Participate in staff interviewing, training & development initiatives to foster team growth
- Collaborate with culinary teams on food production, catering events, or banquet services as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in restaurant management or assistant manager roles within quick service or fine dining environments
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen management practices
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for transaction accuracy
- Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising teams and managing staff training programs
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations including proper food handling procedures
- Effective inventory control and budgeting capabilities to optimize resources
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for team coordination, interviewing, and staff development
- Experience in hospitality management, culinary operations, or related fields is highly desirable
