Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care, companionship, and daily living support. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques.
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status by recording vital signs, noting changes in condition, and communicating updates to healthcare professionals as needed.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with meal planning and cooking.
- Support clients with medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ mental well-being, especially those with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.
- Support transportation needs for appointments or community activities, ensuring safe client transfers using proper techniques like patient transfer methods or the Hoyer lift when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s care), memory care, hospice care, and social work principles.
- Familiarity with medical procedures such as vital signs monitoring, medication administration, CPR/First Aid certification, and basic patient monitoring skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely; experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation for client outings or appointments is a plus.
