We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and energetic Sales Associate to join our team. If you enjoy helping people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in providing outstanding customer service, we'd love to meet you.
This position is much more than working a cash register—you'll serve as the face of our marketplace, assist customers, support our small business owners, and help create an inviting atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.
What You'll Do
- Greet every customer with a warm, welcoming attitude
- Process purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately using our point-of-sale system
- Assist shoppers with finding products, answering questions, and creating a positive shopping experience
- Support our small business vendors by communicating customer needs and helping maintain their spaces
- Keep the sales floor, checkout area, and common spaces clean, organized, and presentable
- Restock shopping bags, supplies, and other front-end essentials as needed
- Answer phone calls professionally and assist customers with general inquiries
- Promote upcoming events, special promotions, and marketplace offerings
- Work collaboratively with management and fellow team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Help maintain the upscale, welcoming environment that makes Small Shoppes Marketplace unique
What We're Looking For
- Friendly, positive, and customer-focused personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy retail environment
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the store for extended periods
- Previous retail, cashier, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
