We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to empower individuals on their recovery journey. Responsibilities
- Provide peer support by sharing personal recovery experiences to motivate and empower clients.
- Assist individuals in developing coping skills through motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies.
- Conduct crisis management and intervention to ensure client safety during mental health or substance use crises.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans while maintaining strict confidentiality of client information.
- Support clients in navigating behavioral health services, including addiction counseling and social work resources.
- Engage with culturally diverse communities to promote inclusive, respectful peer advocacy and recovery efforts.
- Document interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems and maintain detailed case notes.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders.
- Proven ability in crisis intervention and crisis management techniques.
- Strong background in behavioral health, addiction counseling, or social work preferred.
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations and understanding cultural sensitivities.
- Skilled in client communication, mentoring, and peer support advocacy.
- Familiarity with harm reduction principles, motivational interviewing techniques, and confidentiality protocols.
- Prior experience using EHR systems for documentation and case management is highly desirable.
