Truck Shop Technician -
If you are an experienced diesel technician looking for a job within a well-established company with room to grow we are expanding our shop and are in search of technicians familiar with Paccar, Cummins, and Hino engines with extensive knowledge of Peterbilt chassis and end dump, belly dump, and RGN trailers. Candidates with a Class A CDL and a good driving record are preferred but not required .
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Repair or replace vehicle components such as steering mechanisms, transmissions, and brake systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify faults and potential issues.
- Interpret diagnostic test results to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
- Test-drive vehicles to assess performance and verify repairs.
- Ensure all work meets industry safety standards and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to complete repairs and projects on time.
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Adhere to an inspection procedure checklist.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the shop.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Truck Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
- Ability to perform diagnostics using scan tools and diagnostic software.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and diagrams.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Must provide basic tools to perform day to day repairs
- Openings for both early and late shifts
- Weekend work is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from a vocational school or technical institute in diesel mechanics.
- Previous experience working with various diesel truck brands.
- ASE Certification in Medium/Heavy Truck Repair (T-Series).
- Class A CDL.
