- Important — please read before applying: We cannot guarantee a set number of hours or a block of hours. Tutors need to live in San Francisco and be comfortable traveling to different neighborhoods across the city for student sessions, which may take place in students' homes or at local libraries. If a significant commute isn't workable for you, this role likely isn't a fit.
If you're an experienced educator looking for consistent, well-paying tutoring work without the burden of finding your own clients or managing billing, Tutor Doctor invites you to apply. We match highly qualified tutors with K–12 students across reading, math, executive functioning, and test prep.
- Work with students in reading, math, executive functioning skills, or test prep, spanning grades K–12
- Read and interpret student assessment results (cognitive and academic) to identify specific gaps and inform instruction
- Apply targeted strategies based on those findings — addressing both areas of weakness and existing strengths, not just following a set curriculum
- Align instruction with school curriculum while tailoring to each student's individual needs
- Track progress and communicate consistently with families and our team
Special education teachers strongly encouraged to apply — your background in individualized instruction and working with diverse learning profiles is exactly what many of our students need.
We handle all client matching, scheduling, and billing — you focus on teaching, and you always have the flexibility to say yes or no to any match offered.
