- Title: Porter/Housekeeper - 1st shift
- Department: Sanitation
- Reports To: Sanitation Supervisor
- 1st Shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm - Monday through Friday
Housekeeper Position Purpose and Objectives
- The purpose of this position is to provide cleaning and sanitation support to all areas of operation, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Housekeeper Essential Job Functions
- Clean and sanitize manufacturing equipment and parts that are sent to the washroom.
- Clean and sanitize stationary manufacturing equipment and parts.
- Clean and sanitize production rooms and packaging suites.
- Clean and sanitize ancillary areas and warehouses in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Operate and maintain the Tennant T5 Floor Scrubbers.
- Police the exterior of the buildings to maintain a clean and neat appearance.
- Perform weekly sink and drain sanitation.
- Clean and maintain backpack vacuums and shop-vacs used in production areas.
- Maintain cleaning equipment to ensure it is clean and damage free.
- Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Document all cleaning and sanitizing activities in applicable logbooks or log sheets.
- Maintain compliance with all training assignments and complete computer-based training on relevant SOP’s and cGMPs in a timely manner.
- Must be aware of the relevance and importance of their individual activities in contributing to ViaQuest’s commitment to Food Safety.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Ability to communicate effectively with various departments, managers and staff.
- Must be proficient in current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) as they relate to cleaning and sanitizing activities.
- Must be well organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to express his ideas and thoughts both verbally and in writing.
- Must be well-focused and able to complete tasks in time frames specified by management.
- Must be able to document information in a clear and legible manner.
- Able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions
- A dynamic and fast paced environment. Rapid response to a given task is essential. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Individuals must seek assistance when handling objects in excess of 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Good verbal and written communication skills,
- Detail oriented, well-focused, can complete tasks in timely manner.
