An independent day school located in North Miami Beach is looking for a full-time enthusiastic Science/Math teacher. We are a secondary school, with students in grades 6 through 12. This position is mostly high school
Please note that this job will commence on as soon as possible.
The job responsibilities include:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional presentations and activities for students grades 6-12.
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
- Check student work daily for errors and provide additional instructional support, if necessary.
- Create hands-on projects designed to enhance learning and make technology relevant to students.
- Complete appropriate assessments/evaluations.
- Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by utilizing approved teaching team strategies.
Necessary qualifications and skills:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a concentration in science/math or a bachelor’s degree in math or science, or a related field.
- Certification preferred but not necessary.
- An understanding of adolescents and experience teaching them is preferred but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding presentational skills.
- Detail oriented with exceptionally good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- A positive attitude and willing to take the initiative with different tasks and responsibilities and adaptable to different situations.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to get involved in extracurricular activities.
- FBI background screening required.
