American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a teaching hospital requiring 2+ years of experience and RRT certification.
-
Work in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department at a hospital
-
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
-
Weekend work required
-
Floating between campuses may be required
-
Uses GE ventilators
-
Adult critical care and emergency department work settings
-
Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
-
Performs airway management procedures including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care/management
-
Administers medications via aerosol setups, MDI, and nebulizers
-
Performs oxygen therapy including high flow nasal cannula and trach collar
-
Performs arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
-
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
-
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred

Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification preferred

Active Ohio state license required in hand prior to consideration (license required if applicable)

Minimum 2 years of experience required

High School diploma and College diploma/transcripts required

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Previous travel experience preferred

Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill adult patients in critical care and emergency department settings
-
Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting as soon as they sign their contract, with those outside driving distance mailed a fingerprinting packet
-
RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility

Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted
