Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across various areas such as offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners to maintain floors and surfaces at optimal standards
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper procedures for storage, mixing, application, and disposal in accordance with safety protocols
- Conduct sanitation of restrooms and kitchen areas to ensure hygiene standards are consistently met
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, or painting as needed
- Follow safety procedures during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks to prevent injuries and ensure safe working practices
- Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages promptly
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment operation including floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by adhering to chemical handling safety procedures
- Strong manual handling skills with an understanding of safe lifting practices for heavy objects or equipment
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on sanitation standards and facility maintenance
- Good communication skills and customer service orientation to interact professionally with staff and visitors
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
