Position Summary
The Deli & Meat Associate is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Deli and Meat Departments at Ravenna Market. This is a hands-on position focused on food preparation, stocking, product quality, cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service.
The Deli & Meat Associate is expected to help maintain fresh, clean, full, and well-organized departments while following all food safety and sanitation standards. This position plays an important role in creating a positive shopping experience and supporting the overall success of Ravenna Market.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, helpful, and professional customer service.
- Prepare, package, label, and stock deli and meat products according to company standards.
- Assist customers with deli and meat selections and answer product questions.
- Operate deli slicers, scales, ovens, fryers, and other department equipment as trained.
- Slice deli meats and cheeses according to customer requests.
- Prepare hot foods, grab-and-go products, and other deli items.
- Assist with the preparation, packaging, and stocking of meat products as directed.
- Maintain fresh, full, clean, and organized deli and meat displays.
- Regularly inspect products for freshness, quality, and proper dating.
- Rotate products using proper FIFO procedures and remove expired or poor-quality products.
- Follow proper portioning, packaging, labeling, and pricing procedures.
- Help minimize product waste and shrink through proper handling, rotation, and preparation.
- Stock department products and supplies as needed throughout the shift.
- Maintain clean and organized coolers, freezers, preparation areas, and storage areas.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, counters, cutting surfaces, utensils, and department work areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene requirements.
- Follow proper temperature control and food handling procedures.
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
- Communicate product shortages, equipment issues, quality concerns, and other department needs to store leadership.
- Assist with receiving and putting away department deliveries.
- Support department promotions, seasonal products, and special displays.
- Assist in other areas of Ravenna Market when needed.

Qualifications
- Previous deli, meat, grocery, restaurant, or food service experience preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance.
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on store needs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, and move products associated with deli and meat department operations.
- Ability to safely operate department equipment after proper training.

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
