Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Perform manual therapy techniques, including trigger point therapy, to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
- Support patients through therapeutic exercises, modalities, and functional activities to promote recovery.
- Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately following clinical documentation standards.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as physicians, occupational therapists, and nurses to coordinate patient care strategies.
- Maintain detailed electronic medical records (EMR) management in compliance with medical documentation requirements.
- Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, progress, and home care instructions.
- Assist with discharge planning by providing education on exercises and ongoing care needs for outpatient or home health patients.
- Support inpatient and skilled nursing facility patients by delivering targeted physiotherapy interventions aligned with clinical assessment documentation.
Skills
- Proficient in physiotherapy treatment implementation, manual therapy, and trigger point therapy techniques.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and orthopedic principles relevant to physical therapy.
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, inpatient settings, and home health environments.
- Skilled in clinical assessment documentation and adhering to medical documentation standards for accurate record keeping.
- Familiarity with medical equipment operation essential for delivering effective therapy sessions.
- Excellent caregiver communication skills paired with client-centered approach to foster trust and motivation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to develop cohesive care plans that meet individual patient needs.
- Skills in completions and documentations in timely manner.
