The Director of Admissions & Student Services leads and oversees the Admissions and Alumni Benefits departments. This position continuously seeks innovative tools and techniques to provide the best possible experience for applicants, students, and graduates throughout the application process, student journey, and graduate support. The Director collaborates with the Senior Director of Training and Program Directors to ensure students are well prepared for class and that instructors have the information and resources needed to deliver a successful training experience. This position also oversees the Alumni Benefits program.
Lead, manage, coach and motivate staff
Create and maintain a positive work environment with all stakeholders engaging with Admissions and Student Services
Manage all aspects of the application and approval process
Ensure all documentation is complete and accurately prepared for committee review
Facilitate our appeals process
Ensure students are well informed, understand expectations of class and prepared for arrival
Manage contract process with students
Manage inventory of dog leashes, collars, harnesses, and other equipment for instructors during training and class
Support Alumni Benefits staff to ensure enrollment of students into the Alumni Benefits program including presentation during class of the program benefits, enrollment, and addressing FAQs
Oversee and approve reimbursement of veterinary expenses for Alumni Benefits program
Seek opportunities to expand our Veterinary Partnership program (gold, silver, platinum)
Ensure team adheres to all policies and procedures of Dogs Inc
Ensure all processes and procedures align to the standards of International Guide Dog Federation and Assistance Dogs International
Ensure exceptional experiences of students before and up to joining class
Periodically participate in presentations
Create and maintain a culture of continuous quality improvement

At least 3-5 years of experience in a management/leadership position. Strong ability to motivate individuals to deliver results. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and CRM. Must be able to appropriately manage confidential and sensitive information.
Education and/or Experience
BS/BA in communications, management preferred. Experience working with individuals who have disabilities.
More than five years of direct supervisory experience. Ability to coach and interact with students, graduates, volunteers, and employees at all levels.
