Data ID Systems, a premier bar code systems integrator, has an excellent opportunity in our Campbell office for a motivated skilled Microsoft Access© Programmer-analyst to write, test, and maintain software products. Revise existing software, update, repair, modify, and expand existing programs. Test programs to ensure that the operation is correct and that the program produces the desired outcome. If errors occur, make the appropriate changes and recheck the program until it produces the correct results. Responsible for both the systems analysis and the actual programming work. Programming languages such as C++ or Java, Pocket PC, and Windows/CE desired. Previous experience programming for the Pocket PC and Palm a plus. You will usually work about 40 hours a week—the same as many other professional or office workers do. However, evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines or solve specific problems. We are looking for someone who is self motivated, intellectually curious and results driven. You have crafted and delivered several custom, high performance systems you are proud of. You have a successful track record in highly scalable software design and architecture through the entire software life cycle from requirement analysis to data and technical design, development, testing and deployment. You are a coder and a craftsman.
Desired Requirements
Experience testing computer programs for various purposes. Communicating effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the customer. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches. Finding ways to structure or classify multiple pieces of information. Familiar with PDA programming tools: Satellite Forms, CodeWarrior for the Palm Pilot, C, C++, Visual C++, Visual Basic, PowerBuilder, Java, 4th and 5th generation languages, and MS Access database programming. Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or information systems. Team player and excellent interpersonal/time management skills.
