Job Summary:
This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and food prep area with a primary focus on washing dishes and cleaning kitchen equipment and surfaces. This position also assists with basic food preparation and other kitchen duties as needed to support daily operations.
Job Duties:
- Wash, dry, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
- Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas, equipment, floors/drains, sinks, and other surfaces in accordance with established food safety and sanitation procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary dishwashing and kitchen area throughout the shift
- Assist kitchen staff with general tasks as needed to support efficient daily operations – basic food preparation as directed, including washing, cutting, portioning, or otherwise preparing ingredients
- Properly handle and dispose of food waste, trash, and other materials
- Restock kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed
- Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety procedures
- Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with kitchen staff and other employees
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Preferred Education & Experience:
- A High School diploma or GED
- Previous kitchen, food service, or dishwashing experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to follow instructions and established food safety and sanitation procedures
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to assist with a variety of kitchen tasks
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with kitchen work
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move kitchen supplies and equipment as needed
