Job Overview
The Foreman is responsible for safely overseeing the installation of underground wet and dry utilities, ensuring projects meet quality standards and adhere to local regulations. This role plays a critical part in leading field crews and maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate a crew of 5-6 employees during underground utility installation projects
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, local codes, and project specifications
- Analyze project challenges, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions to maintain progress
- Lead by example to motivate and mentor team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Apply technical expertise to operate and troubleshoot relevant tools, equipment, and technologies
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members to ensure project alignment
- Monitor work quality and productivity, implementing corrective actions as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in utility installation preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in underground utility installation or related field
- Proven ability to lead and manage small crews in a construction environment
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and local standards for utility work
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and technical proficiency with relevant tools and equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with wet and dry utility installation projects
- Certifications such as OSHA safety training or utility construction certifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project plans
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
