Job Description
Position Summary
The Help Desk Support Specialist is responsible for providing support and technical assistance to Evans General Contractors, LLC’s (Evans) employees and will join Evans’ growing IT Department. The Help Desk Support Specialist will be responsible for answering requests and addressing system and user issues in a timely and professional manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the first line of support for incoming IT requests
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory and other systems.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including device setup and account provisioning.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT staff or vendors as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of issues, solutions, and procedures.
- Monitor system performance and report irregularities or potential risks.
- Assist with IT asset inventory and lifecycle management.
- Educate users on best practices for security, software usage, and troubleshooting.
- Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or 1-2 years of equivalent experience
- Windows 11 setup, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and remote support tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and Microsoft environment, preferred.
- Exposure to basic networking concepts (Wi-Fi, VPN, IP addressing), preferred.
- CompTIA A+ or similar certification is a plus.
