Rogers Group is currently seeking candidates for a FLAGGER - TRAFFIC CONTROL position based out of Cookeville, TN. This role will work with multiple crews building various projects such as commercial parking lots, city streets, county roads and interstate highways. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
Job Details:
- Starting pay is $23.52
- Directing Traffic and/or pedestrians safely through and round active work zones
- Prevent accidents by slowing down or stopping traffic
- Use Stop/Slow paddles and signals
Setting up barricades and warning signs according to TDOT regulations

Job Responsibilities
- Traffic Direction: Safely halt, slow, or release vehicles, and direct single-lane alternating traffic.
- Equipment Setup: Place and remove traffic control devices like cones, barricades, and advance warning signs at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Communication: Coordinate with other flaggers and site supervisors via two-way radios to ensure smooth vehicle flow.
- Site Monitoring: Remain highly alert to work zone hazards, construction vehicle movements, and approaching traffic.
- Incident Reporting: Record license plate numbers and report aggressive or disobedient drivers to supervisors or law enforcement.
- Adherence to Safety Standards: Wear all mandated high-visibility personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow specific Traffic Management Plans
Job Qualifications
- Individual must be dedicated to working safely at all times.
- Experience preferred working road construction in high traffic areas.
- Preference given to current ATSSA Traffic Control Technician Certification holders.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary.
- Team player.
- Willing to be trained to flag/regulate traffic in accordance with MUTCD guidelines.
- Willing to assist crew with manual labor duties, as needed.
Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
