/Duties
Welcome Team Leaders will assist new students in transitioning to SUNY Cortland. Specific responsibilities include:
- Facilitating small group discussions about transitional concerns and academic expectations for the spring semester
- Encouraging new students to form connections
- Leading classroom finding tours
- Assisting with events and traffic flow during Welcome Week
Days/Hours Needed
August 24-31; various hours throughout those days for a total of up to 15 hours
Campus Location/Bldg.
Events are conducted throughout campus
Required Qualifications
- Current SUNY Cortland undergraduate student who will be attending Cortland in Fall 2026 semester
- In good academic standing (at least a 2.0 GPA)
- Previous experience as an Orientation Assistant
- In good standing with Student Conduct
- Ability to maintain a positive and flexible attitude
- Desire to work with students, faculty and staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum GPA of a 2.5
- Evidence of academic excellence and co-curricular involvement
Physical Demands
Will be moving and directing students throughout campus
