Behavioral Health Advocate
Non-Exempt
Salary: $50,000/Year
Scope of Position: The Behavioral Health Advocate (BHA) is responsible for the assessment and intervention of program participants who have identified behavioral health concerns as being a barrier to reaching their full potential. As a BHA, you will assist in providing brief therapeutic interventions and referring to long-term external supportive services when applicable.
Essential Functions:
- Assess and build therapeutic relationships with participants to assist with client-centered interventions aimed at reducing barriers
- Provide holistic individualized supportive services to assist in client’s professional and personal developmental
needs and opportunities
- Provide individual coaching, psychoeducation, and facilitating groups when applicable
- Identify beneficial community resources for participants and coordinate external referrals when appropriate
- Uphold confidentiality standards with all client interactions, in accordance with your advanced degree and/or licensing board
- Maintain organized, confidential, and well documented participant case notes in accordance with program standards, and with ethical consideration for your licensure board
- Other opportunities as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master’s degree required in Social Work, Counseling, Counseling Education or related field, with 2-3 years of clinical experience
- Firm grasp of ethical expectations and the ability to maintain ethical standards without onsite supervision
- Experience with counseling individuals and families
- Ability to prioritize tasks and great documentation skills
- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and automobile required
