Position Summary
PEEK NY is seeking a Preschool Special Education Teacher to serve as the lead special education teacher in a Special Class in an Integrated Setting (SCIS) classroom serving preschool students ages 3–5. The teacher will be responsible for implementing IEPs, differentiating instruction, monitoring student progress, and leading the educational programming for students with disabilities within an inclusive classroom environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead teacher in the classroom (12 students)
- Implement and monitor all student IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of learners with varying developmental and learning profiles.
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with NYS Early Learning Standards.
- Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction and document progress.
- Prepare progress reports and participate in CPSE meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, related service providers, and families to support student success.
- Utilize positive behavior support strategies and promote social-emotional development.
- Maintain compliance with NYSED regulations, program requirements, and agency policies.
- Foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications
- NYS Students with Disabilities Birth–Grade 2 Certification or Special Education All Grades Certification.
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children and students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, IEP implementation, and classroom management.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
