Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit / MHC-LP Therapist
We are a private practice seeking a compassionate and motivated Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit holder / MHC-LP Therapist to join our team. This position is intended specifically for candidates who hold, or are eligible to apply for, a New York State Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit (MHC-LP) and are looking to gain supervised clinical experience in a supportive outpatient private practice setting.
Supervision will be provided by a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
The therapist will provide individual psychotherapy to adult clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, ADHD, identity issues, and emotional regulation difficulties.
Responsibilities include conducting individual therapy sessions, completing intake assessments and progress notes, participating in regular clinical supervision, maintaining ethical and professional clinical practice, and collaborating with the supervisor around treatment planning and client care.
Qualified candidates must have completed a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and must hold, or be eligible to apply for, a New York State Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit (MHC-LP). Strong communication skills, reliability, openness to feedback, and timely documentation are required.
Compensation is $50 per clinical hour/session. This is a part-time position to start, with flexible scheduling and potential to grow.
